Mexico – Day 12: Changes in altitude (diving & trapeze)

This morning we went diving again. I really wanted to test how the re-threaded backplate behaves. And besides, we thought "why not". The next dive after this is either a year away or back home, so I would rather do it here again. 😉 And the re-threading was 100% worth it. So much more stable! Hovering motionless was possible before, but demanded a lot of concentration; now it was suddenly comparatively easy. Being able to lift my head without knocking into the first stage is a comfort not to be underestimated either. ^^

The two dives were pretty relaxed and the reef was nicer than I had expected. No big fish, but plenty of life, and the corals looked really good for the Caribbean. At one point a turtle apparently wanted to take exactly the route I was hanging around on. I behaved as inconspicuously as possible and wanted to film it. I thought it would turn away any second. It did not. So I kindly moved aside a little to avoid a collision. Got a great shot out of it.

My partner did really well too. Slightly underweighted on the first dive by accident, but noticeably lower air consumption. 🙂

In the afternoon, trapeze was finally on the plan. Training session only today, no catch session afterwards. Which was probably a good thing. I didn't want to overload my shoulder straight away. I wasn't sure whether the physio would have paid off with regard to my goal of being able to do trapeze. But it worked out wonderfully. No problems at all, and the tricks went quite well too.

In the evening there was a show: first the nations presentation of the GOs, then Cyberpunk, which was roughly a French existentialist AI opera with acrobatics and dance. 😉 Classic Club Med.
